Black Belt & Instructor Certification Program
Athletes Black Belt Certification: Certification is based on competition results from sanctioned Pankration, Combat Grappling and MMA Tournaments and awarded with instructor recommendation.
Instructor Certification: Free crossover certification is available to Instructors from all styles of Martial Arts who currently support Fightleague competitions. Free Senior and Master Instructor certification is available to instructors whose students excel in competition.
Officials Certification: Available to active Martial Artists who also participate as officials.
Each certificates is individually numbered and sealed for authenticity.

Criteria used to determine points:
150 Points are required to qualify for Black Belt Certifcation
Section 1 - Training Experience
Section 2 - Referee Experience
Section 3 - Competitive Experience
(Total Score must include a combination of 2 or more sections)
*Only Sanctioned Pankration, Combat Grappling and MMA tournaments can be used.
Includes all tournaments under Fightleague, USAFPA, USACGA, FILA, IFPA and all International affiliated organizations.
Individual bouts and All Star Matches cannot be used.
Grappling or Juijutsu tournaments do not apply.
Actual Results must be available to review.
Instructor Certification
Instructor Ranking - This is a cross over ranking available to all instructors from other styles, systems and organizations who are currently involved with a Pankration organization as coach, competitor or official. A copy of pre-existing certification is required and must be either emailed to jfrank128@cox.net , faxed to 949 305-9170 or mailed to So Cal Pankration. Please include current involvement with Pankration, Combat Grappling or MMA and indicate which organization.
Senior Instructor Ranking - Available to instructors when three students achieve the rank of Competition Black Belt.
Master Instructor Ranking - Available to instructors when five students achieve the rank of Competition Black Belt.
FAQ
First check the fightleague.org web site home page under results. If the tournament was not listed or from another organization you must contact that promoter for results or obtain a declaration on your placing.
Can the Black Belt Certification be obtained without my Instructors consent/ recommendation? An instructor must sign off on the application and certificate. If you do not have a current instructor you would need to find one willing to give his recommendation.
Can I obtain a Black Belt ranking without competing?
Our Black Belt certification is a competition based so the only way to qualify with enough points is through competition. The only exception are Chief Referees with 100 training points.
No, The Instructor Ranking is a base level Certification for Instructors from other Styles and Systems who are currently and actively involved in coaching students in "Pankration" Competition. We do not tell coaches how and what to teach. The results are measured in their students success leading to a merit based Senior and Master Instructor level.
