General Information
- This Tournament is open to all Active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Reservists who are assigned to a drilling unit may also participate.
- Licensed Professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighters are prohibited from entering.
- Tournament is sponsored by The Compound Mixed Marital Arts and Fitness.
- Tournament brackets, scoring, referees conducted by SoCal Pankration.

You must register online. Please advise if you decide to withdraw after registration.
Please note:
Each Weigh Class has an 8 man limit. The first 8 athletes who register in each weight class will gain entry to the tournament. Our Online registration system will prevent more than 8 competitors per weight. Please contact So Cal Pankration at 949 829-6857 if you are registered and must withdraw from the tournament. This will allow us to re-open your slot to an able competitor.
**A lottery will be conducted at 0830 hrs after Weigh in on May 16th to fill open slots due to no-shows and athletes who did not make weight. Athletes who are unable to register because their division is full may choose to attend the lottery to gain entry.
Divisions
- Two Skill Levels:
Beginner (one year or less Martial Arts training) and Open (Over one year training)
- Weight Classes:
-130 lbs; -140 lbs; -150 lbs; -160 lbs; -175lbs; -190 lbs; -205 lbs; -230 lbs & Heavyweight.
- There are no Women's divisions at this time. Please contact us if you are a Female and wish to compete.
- All divisions are double elimination with a consolation bracket to determine 3rd place.
- Team Awards are presented to the highest placing teams in the Open division. Teams must comprise of athletes assigned to a Specific base, Battalion, Squadron, Ship or similar Military configuration.
Mandatory Equipment
- Athletes must compete with MMA Style Gloves, a mouthpiece and Cup.
- MMA Style gloves will be provided to athletes without their own.
- Other protective gear is optional: Elbow pads, Knee pads, Shin/Shin & Instep guards, Wrestling Head Gear, Wrestling/ Martial Arts Shoes.
- MMA Fight Shorts with Rash guard is the recommended uniform.
- Athletes may also compete in Traditional Martial Arts attire, shorts or sweats without open pockets or metal, tight fitting T-Shirt or Wrestling singlet.
- Fight gear is available day of competition. Provided by Take A

Tournament Information
- All Athletes and Coaches must know and understand the rules of
the tournament. A rules demo will be conducted the morning of the Tournament.
- Competitors may have a maximum of two coaches mat side. Coaches
must stay in the designated area on the mat.
- Any violations may result in penalties against the fighter or removal from the tournament.
- All disrespectful conduct to include that of coaches will result
in an immediate disqualification from the tournament. Disrespectful conduct
includes arguing with referees and officials and/ or intentionally trying to injure your opponent.
- All victorious competitors are required to sign their bout sheet
after each match acknowledging the results are correct.
- Beginners will compete in 3 minute matches. Open will compete in
5 minute matches.

Weigh In:
- All Athletes must weigh in. Athletes can chose to weigh either the day of the event or the day prior to the event. You must be on time with your Military ID.
Option 1: Friday May 15th from 1830 to 2030 hrs
Option 2: Saturday May 16th from 0730 to 0830 hrs.
- You must make the weight as registered or risk removal from the tournament. All athletes will receive .4 weight allowance for undergarments.

From I-5 exit Basilone Rd. (This is Orange County’s Southern most exit prior to entering San Diego County). Proceed East on Basilone Rd and enter MCB Camp Pendleton. You must show a valid drivers license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance to gain entry. Continue South on Basilone Rd approximately 1.5 miles and enter the School of Infantry. The 52 Area Fitness Center will be on your left side behind a phone bank.

US Pankration World Team Trials:
The top three placers in all advanced divisions are eligible to participate in the US World Team Trials on 21 June 2009 in Milwaukee, WI. World Team Trials Champions will represent the United States at the 2009 FILA World Wrestling Games Pankration Championships, Sept 11- 14, 2009 in Siauliai, Lithuania
